SCP-9006 (?)
SCP-9006 was a series of powerful, poorly understood energy bursts that occurred over several days in 2015, originating from a person known as PoI-012-01, later identified as Percival Darke. These bursts, which initially caused minor damage but escalated to widespread electronic blackouts and numerous casualties, were composed of magical and belief-based energies that defied known scientific laws. The events were linked to Percival's suppressed emotional turmoil and personal history, particularly his struggles with gender identity and his relationship with his adopted daughter, Iris. The SCP was eventually classified as Neutralized after Percival Darke embraced his true identity as Iris's mother, causing the anomalous events to cease.
The Eye of Argon (?)
This article is appropriate for summarization. It describes a cultural phenomenon within science fiction fandom, which is interesting and not offensive. "The Eye of Argon" is a 1970 fantasy novelette by Jim Theis, famous within science fiction and fantasy communities for its exceptionally poor writing, characterized by malapropisms, misspellings, and awkward prose. Despite its widely acknowledged low quality, it has become a beloved cult classic, often used in group readings at conventions where participants challenge each other to read it aloud without laughing. The story follows the barbarian Grignr on his adventures, culminating in him defeating shamans, stealing a magical "Eye of Argon," and escaping with a woman. The novella's notoriety grew from its initial fanzine publication, spreading through photocopies, and its full, previously lost ending was only rediscovered and published in 2006.
