Hi, I'm Julio Flores

Software Engineer | Computer Science B.S. | Founder, Guide Systems

About Me

I recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science while working full-time as a software engineer. I focus on building scalable operational software systems that solve real-world business problems through strong architecture, automation, and modern full-stack development.

My work centers around designing reliable platforms for inventory management, procurement workflows, operational tracking, vendor management, and internal business automation. I enjoy building systems that combine clean APIs, maintainable backend architecture, and efficient user experiences.

Guide Systems

I am the founder of Guide Systems, a software company focused on operational infrastructure and workflow management platforms for organizations.

Guide Systems develops software that helps businesses manage complex operational processes including:

  • Procurement and purchasing workflows
  • Inventory and asset tracking
  • Vendor and contract management
  • Internal operational automation
  • Field operations and logistics workflows

I design and implement the platform end-to-end, including backend services, database architecture, infrastructure, APIs, and frontend applications. The platform emphasizes reliability, scalability, operational visibility, and maintainable engineering practices.

Leadership & Community

During my time at Western Michigan University, I served as a leader for Developer Club WMU, where I helped mentor students interested in software engineering and collaborative development.

I also contributed to the club’s internal platform used to manage membership systems, events, applications, and participation tracking. The experience strengthened my interest in engineering leadership, scalable systems, and mentoring developers working on real-world projects.
