The ComputerName stored by Disco ICT has a character limit of 50 (for the computer name and domain). This field is used for non-AD devices which can utilize the full field.
Active Directory's sAMAccountName attribute has a limit of 15 characters for computer accounts (followed by a $ character) because of a NetBIOS protocol limitation.
When domain-joining a modern Windows OS, the 15 character limit for the sAMAccountName attribute is still present; and that name must also be unique within the domain. However, the dNSHostName attribute can be used to store long device names.
