Problem:
Uri/v1.0.1/lib/libnetwork-uri.a(uri.cpp.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against .rodata.str1.8' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC

Solution:
set_property(TARGET network-uri PROPERTY POSITION_INDEPENDENT_CODE ON)

Thanks for the report. Would you be able to make a PR for this?

You probably want to make this conditional behind an option that’s defaulted to “on”. Some platforms/builds don’t need nor want position independent code.
