TypeError: buffer.utf8Write is not a function

Hi,

I am trying to pack a string. I take a javascript object, then stringify it to JSON and try to pack it.

I keep getting the error:

TypeError: buffer.utf8Write is not a function


`
  var jsonSTR = JSON.stringify(jsonObject);
  var compressed = serialize(jsonSTR);
`

This is a Typescript REACT application.
