Hello,

Currently, the application includes only two fixed models. While the original Whisper model has limited language support, many fine-tuned models exist for specific languages. It would be a great enhancement to allow users to configure and use these specialized models.

Yeah, that's a very valid feature. I have to look at how should I allow the user to put custom models into the application.

I checked the possibility of adding custom models and received a message that models placed in the app folder are handled automatically. However, it looks like this is not yet the case—my custom model does not appear in the list.

I believe there's nothing wrong with allowing models to be loaded from the app directory. The chance of a user loading the original model twice is low (and not harmful), and keeping custom models in the app folder allows everything to stay in one place.

Other than that, model loading from an external directory works fine.

Hi @cbarange,
I just noticed an issue with custom model loading upon startup — it's not preloaded.

After I stop recording, nothing happens. There's no error logged, just total silence.
To use the custom model after startup, I need to manually switch models to trigger actual loading.
